About Chakvi
Chakvi is a seaside resort village 10 to 15 kilometres north of Batumi, on the road to Kobuleti. On one side lie the sea and a pebble beach, on the other the foothills of Mtirala National Park, tea plantations and eucalyptus groves. The Batumi Botanical Garden and Cape Verde are close by.
Most complexes stand on the first line, 30 to 100 metres from the beach, along Batumi and Mezgviauri streets; buildings deeper in the village, on Agmashenebeli and Megeneishvili streets, are 400 to 800 metres from the sea. Central Batumi is 15 to 25 minutes by car and the airport 25 to 40 minutes, with buses and minibuses running to the city.
People come to Chakvi for peace and a calm sea: there is no dense urban development and none of the New Boulevard crowds. The village has schools, a kindergarten, supermarkets, cafés and pharmacies, but for big shops, hospitals and entertainment you will have to drive to Batumi. Apartments here are bought for holidays and seasonal rental, and in winter the village gets noticeably quieter.
